Camping in Italy

Eating in an Italian Restaurant can easily spark an interest in visiting Italy. When you go to an Italian restaurant and enjoy the atmosphere, the food, and the people working there, you can start to wonder what Italy is like. For the outdoors person, Italy usually isn’t the first place that is thought of whenever European camping holidays/vacations are being discussed. Nevertheless, there are a lot of reasons why you shouldn’t overlook the option of choosing to go camping in Italy.

High Quality Campsites and Mobile Homes in Italy

Italy’s campsites offer you comfort and hotel-like facilities. The tents are spacious and the mobile homes include cooking facilities that are located en-suite and in other places as well. There are also a lot of different campgrounds available including those where you will enjoy breathtaking natural beauty or those that are located in close proximity to the major cities in Italy. When planning a camp trip to Italy, first you want to pick out the site seeing attractions you want to visit in Italy when you are there and then try to find a campground near by.

One of the campgrounds that you should definitely visit, if you can, is the Marina di Venezia. It is one of the largest and best campsites that’s located close to the Venetian Lagoon. While at this campsite you will enjoy direct access to the beach, a swimming pool, a fountain complex, and enough family activities to keep everyone happy.

The Weather in Italy

While it does rain in Europe often, this isn’t the case in Italy, which makes it the perfect destination for the outdoor enthusiast who wants to camp and to hike in Italy. In fact, you will find Mediterranean weather in Southern Italy and you will find warm weather in Northern Italy. Of course, it is a bit cooler when you go really far north, especially near the Alps that are located in Italy. Since most of the locations have more mild weather, it makes the weather ideal for hiking, site seeing, and sports activities.

Things to Do in Italy

There really are a lot of things to do whenever you go camping in Italy. For instance, right next to the Marina di Venezia there is Venice. This city is steeped in cultural history and it has some of the best architecture that you will find anywhere. Some of these buildings are historical in nature, such as St. Mark’s Basilica and the La Fenice opera house. You will also find a maze of waterways, bridges and pontoons here.
Regardless of when you go to visit Venice, you will find that it is an incredible city.

However, if you really want to see the epitome of the Venetian lifestyle, you should go during Carnoval (carnival) time in February. During this time the city is bustling with parties and events such as masked balls and parties that have been an ancient tradition in Italy ever since the thirteenth century. The city will buzz with life, colors, sights, and splendor throughout this time. Visiting Italy during this time will be very memorable.

Regardless of which Italian campground you choose to visit, you will definitely enjoy yourself. After all, you will get a change of pace as you get to live the Italian lifestyle. So, if this sounds like something that you might even remotely enjoy, you should consider pitching a tent in Italy on your next vacation.

While you are saving for that camp trip to Italy, consider an Italian picnic with take out food from your favorite Italian restaurant.
