Buying small office phone systems

By: thomas.white

Each company has different telecommunications needs; some feature just several employees, while others have lots of departments located on many stories of a building. In these conditions, it is quite clear that one must firstly assess his own needs and only after that, compare the existing telecommunications companies and their services.

A company manager who wants to purchase small office phone systems for his company can address a hosted PBX company, a VoIP provider, or a company offering KSU-less (key service unit) phone systems. Still, this last type of phone systems is recommended more to residential users, than companies.

So, for companies, it all comes down to hosted PBX or Voice over Internet Protocol systems. Virtual PBX is a sophisticated way of benefiting from a powerful phone system over a specific phone network. The entire system is delivered and maintained by a privately held communications service provider, who allows the employees of a company communicate with one another extremely cheap.

A VoIP provider, on the other hand, allows employees to communicate using the same phone system even if they are not within the same building. In other words, the employees can work from home, leave to other state for business purposes, or work on their mobile phone, not on a desktop computer, and still be connected to one another. Once again, the calls are very cheap.

The KSU-less systems are good for individuals or for those who have just started a company and do not have employees yet or have a low number of employees. Such small office phone systems are represented by mobile phones that feature some specific characteristics and that need to be plugged into special jacks to work and get charged.

Telecommunications providers can offer a high number of services to their users, such as call answering features, like call queue, multi-company receptionist, and extension status, away-from-the-phone features, like the possibility of receiving notifications via text messages, and voicemails, and call management features, like call transfer, call waiting, and call park.

Check the services provided by each telecommunications provider that activates in your area, and see what services are the most affordable ones, and which provider benefits from the most positive reviews online. Also, ask your friends who already collaborate with a telecommunications provider about such companies.

After checking the services offered by such providers, see if they offer money-back guarantees or allow you to test some of their services for free. At the same time, check if there is a cancellation fee if you choose to terminate the contract before its due date, and its quantum, and select the telecommunications company that offers the services to match your needs and the prices to match your pockets.
