Briefly on the nagging item

By: Yuriy Vysochin

Our clients often ask to complete their website and to fix the mistakes. They think that it is the work of two days. Probably in such a way they want to save a lot of time and money when they turned to unqualified programmer.
I want to give you an example that occurred a few days ago. A new customer knocked in my Skype with a request: 'I have an E-commerce website, it is almost ready and all we need is only to correct the layout. There is a little work to do and it takes just a couple of days. And please, very urgent....'
We asked the customer to send us the backup of the website for familiarizing with site code and allocation of nuances of this E-Commerce website development. When our experts saw the code of this website they were horrified.
I asked the customer – 'Who was the 'master' who had made this 'wonderful' website for you?'
Unwillingly, the customer answered that he found the programmer who had developed this website. The value of work done was pretty minimal and therefore he has agreed to develop this project quickly.
After website analysis, we understood that we must to remake a website template and its components. And that is a new project by 90%.
We offered the customer an alternative solution of the problem and specified the cost of development, but the customer answered that that was too expensive and out of budget. And the customer found the another developer.
What do we have, as a result?
As a result, the customer lost his time and money. The project hadn't been launched in time and the customer hadn't found a qualified developer for creating and maintenance E-commerce website.
When you come to developer of website and online shop, who has such type of advertising as “'We can develop a website of any complexity', you must ask yourself a question, whether they would be able to develop such services as,,, etc. for you. I think your answer would be 'no'. If they told the lie in the advertising about their capabilities you shouldn't wait the truth about the quality from them.
I want to finish this unpleasant theme by proverb 'A cheapskate pays twice'.
P.S. Dear friends, if you want to get a qualitative website, you should be more responsible when you choose the developer. Don't forget to pay attention to the status of company developer.
