In the last article related to this (‘Omen’) I outlined my plan for a successful Thai company registration. Well I set this out to my programming team as the main requirement I want to meet is to make sure my team of staff is up to scratch, in terms of funding and shareholders I feel my legal team here can handle all that and they can liaise with any Thai law office of their own choosing also. The plan of extra study was not met well. You have to realise that programming is really something that is not taught but merely a skill you either have or you do not, like the ability to learn another language. For both of these anyone can try but not everyone can succeed, I sure know that I am no programmer or linguist.
But ultimately when I laid out the training package and incentive and took a vote they all decided that it would be good for them in the long term and their future. I also had to answer questions for those who would be moving to Thailand and this included lots of questions on the Thai company registration process and the reason why we were so keen to follow it to the letter. Well, the answer to that is simple, I am a law abiding citizen and I do as I am told within the confines of the law, life is so much easier without stress or trouble and rules, such as the Thai company registration procedures and protocol are there for our own protection. I have a meeting with my finance team to discuss the type of company we will be operating in Thailand and also how to show the funding we have set in place for this entire venture. If it works out then I could really gain a foothold in the Asian market, starting from our new Asia pacific base of operations located in Thailand.
The final thing we need to do is sort out the shareholders. We need to make sure also that we employ the correct number of Thai staff per foreign member accordingly also. Finding Thai shareholders to create a majority board should not be too hard, this company is not one of the best for nothing, people know who we are and we have had interest before from Asia but this time I am doing it on my own terms and this means that I will follow all areas of the Thai company registration procedure, even if it kills me, I have heard many people give up or their businesses fail because they cut corners but this will not be me, I have worked too long and too hard to give up now, watch out Thailand, we are on our way, and only through a successful company registration can we really gain a feeling for Thailand and operating in Asia under our own rules and through our own steam, this may be my business but will play by their rules in order to survive in new markets.
