
Body piercing places are very fashionable these days. it was uncommon to meet someone with a piercing fifteen or twenty years ago, especially a facial piercing. For instance, where you live can affect the price you pay, as well where you want your piercing can be a big factor. Obviously getting your ears pierced is going to be cheaper than a lip piercing.
The second thing I always get asked is. How much does it hurt? Well everybody is different and yeah it's gonna hurt, but the pain fades quickly, Most piercing pain will last only a few seconds, with the exception of some delicate genital piercing's, trust me, you want your piercer to take some extra time to ensure the safety and accuracy of these piercing's!
The labret is a piercing that goes in the bottom lip, but over the years there have been many variations to this style of piercing. The labret gets it's name from the style of jewelry worn, which is usually some type of bead ornamentation. Some variations are, Vertical labret which is down through the top of the lip and out the bottom, The Lowbret piercing is done low on the chin, The Medusa is placed in the upper lip between the center ridges.
Many people find the experience of a piercing similar to that of a bee sting. Pain medicine is not usually offered, because it is minimal and short lived. in most cases with the exception of body piercing in more delicate area's which can be a little sore for a few days. Although, there are some topical analgesics that you might find available.
If your checking-out a new boutique watch how they handle their equipment, are they using freshly sterilized tools and are they kept in a separate tray away from the used ones. Contaminated piercing supplies can cause HIV, Hepatitis are any number of infections. Think about it, your letting someone stick a needle in you thousands of times drawing blood from your body, don't you think the needle should be sterile.
Ask your friends questions about the different places they've gone to for their piercing's, and what they liked or didn't like about each place. Ask specific questions about the concerns you might have. Like, are they professional, is the place clean, can you trust them. Try to get a feel for what place you would like to check-out first, but visit more than just one.
New piercing's require extra care in order to heal properly so if you're on a budget look for an Implant grade stainless steel in your jewelry which is least likely to trigger some kind of reaction or infection. Be sure you pay attention to the healing time the body piercing places require with your piercing, and make sure you don't try to exchange your jewelry too soon.
