Let's say that right now you are trying to lose weight by eating less and by going to the gym. The reason for this is that a treadmill is a one off purchase and rather than having to pay for a gym membership every month or for access everytime you go (not to mention parking and petrol) you can pay a one off fee and then it will be completely free to use from then on – and no queuing!
