Having a baby is a dream come true for any parent. You want to give that little angel each and every joy the world can offer. Nothing but the best is ever good enough for your baby. The room should also have a change table, towels, face-washers, nappies, terry cloth nappies, and basic toiletries like nappy wipes, cotton wool balls, cotton buds, nappy rash cream, baby lotion, etc. If you are planning on breastfeeding you need breastpads, bottles, and a special feeding pillow or V shaped cushion. Other essentials for a totally equipped nursery may be a baby monitor, a nappy bag, mittens, nail clippers, a bassinette, a digital ear thermometer, pacifiers and baby powder.

Whether or not you keep these items in the nursery, you are going to need a baby carrier or sling, a pram with a sunshade for walks in the sun, and a baby capsule and car-seat. There is no need to buy too many clothes before the baby arrives, as estimating the size can be difficult, but some clothes are necessary. You should buy a couple of singlet suits, short sleeved bodysuits, long sleeved growsuits and socks. Or you could wait for the baby shower or gifts to arrive, seeing that most friends will buy baby clothes as gifts for an expecting mom.
