Are You Ready For Prom - The Ultimate Checklist

By: Gen Wright

Are you ready for the big day? Prom is an all-important event and everyone is anxious and yet excited about it. The problem is, all that excitement may cause you to forget a few things along the way. There are many item to remember for prom. The most important one is to have your dress picked out, steamed and ready to go. Keep it someplace safe and protected. Try it on a few days prior to your prom to make sure it still fits well. However, what else needs to be on your checklist of things to do?

Get all that you need for this day ready to go at least a week in advance so that you have everything you need. This includes your under garments, your stockings, your shoes and your purse. Also, consider the jewelry you are wearing. Does it fit right? Have you tried on the entire look to make sure it all goes well? If not, you should do this as soon as possible. If you will be applying your own make up for prom, also make sure you have that picked out (after a few trial runs of course) and put aside for the big day. Take a deep breath: this is the stuff that really matters.

Be sure you have made all the important phone calls for your big prom day, too. First, make sure that you have schedule a hair appointment at least the day of prom. You may also want to have a prom day a few days or even a few weeks in advance to test out your options in hair styles with your hair stylist. You also want to consider your nail appointments, which are usually done the day before your prom, to keep time available the day of your special day.

There are a few other things to keep in mind, too. Is your prom serving dinner? If not, where will you eat dinner? Do you need reservations? For those who are taking a date, be sure you know what time they will pick you up. What are they driving? Next, consider after party. Where will you be going and are you going to be safe there? Do you have a backup plan to get home if your ride is unable to get you home? All of these small plans are important to have organized now.

Getting ready for your prom is an all-important event. Give yourself enough time to plan for the big day and you will be happy you did so. This way, if anything has been forgotten, you still have time to make plans for it. Do have fun on this day. In fact, a lot of the fun that has to do with prom is the planning, too!
