Are Fat Burners the Only Solution for Your Weight Loss Problems?

It is enticing to accept that all you need to solve your excess body fat problem is a fat loss pill and most of the supplement companies certainly want you to accept that. If there is any secret to weight loss, it is the hard work on your diet and physical exercise. The sooner you accept this fact, the sooner you will be the proud possessor of a thin body.

Regrettably, this is not what most people would like to listen. It is impossible for a secret pill to compensate for a diet that is too high in fat, salt, sugar, and too low in fruits, vegetables, and other unhealthy food. If really, there were a supplement that trims down fat that easily, there would not be billions of overweight people in this universe.

Most of the advertisements you see on television and magazines for weight loss pills greatly exaggerates their effectiveness. They say that their product will help you see miraculous fat loss like losing 7 pounds over the weekend without diet or exercise. However, there is no secret pill that will just melt away fat and never will be!

Even if such a pill really existed, it would only be addressing the effect, but not the cause. Excess fat is an effect. If you want to get rid of body fat, you cannot just treat the effect. Instead, you must trace the effect back to its cause and treat the cause. The cause of body fat is inactivity and poor diet. Until you speed up your activity and improve your nutrition, no supplement or weight loss pill will ever help you in the long run.

Diet pills, also known as fat burners that rely on stimulants such as ephedrine and caffeine may help a little, but they are not as helpful as the advertisements say and there are many likely side effects with overuse or abuse. It is even shocking to hear that these weight loss pills have been linked to number of deaths.

Though there is no quick fix secret formula for magic fat loss, there are thermogenic supplements that may add to the fat burning effects of your diet and training program if you are in good health and you tolerate stimulants well. However, do not let yourself be taken in by the outrageous claims and the even more outrageous before and after photos. These supplements help in reducing weight, but they do not work to the extent overstated in the advertisements.

Thermogenesis is the process of body burning fuels without making chemical energy. Instead, the calories are released as heat. Ephedra and caffeine work synergistically for a thermogenic effect and a stimulant effect, raising your body energy levels. However, persons with a record of cardiovascular disease or high blood pressure should never use any fat burners; neither should anyone who is overly sensitive to stimulants.

For a few people the fat burners may help, however, the risks may not be worth the small benefits. Sure, they might see a few pounds here and there drop, but again it is all short term weight loss and unless the cause for weight loss is found and corrected, you are sure to gain the weight back.
