Antique Platinum Wedding Ring Sets

With people discovering that they are allergic to certain precious metals, specifically nickel alloys used in many gold wedding rings and everyday jewelry, it only seems right to expand our horizons to alternative metals like platinum. Platinum wedding ring sets have been widely available because of its popularity.
Although wedding bands for men come in a variety of metals, more often than not they come in gold, sterling silver, titanium, platinum, and tungsten. It has been tradition, however, that men's wedding bands are made of gold. The precious metals used in the creation of men's wedding bands are composed of metal alloys, which are mixtures of elements such as gold, hydrogen, oxygen, copper, nickel, iron, and niobium.
Wedding bands and rings for men are exposed to water, scratches, and sweat on a daily basis as they are meant to be worn everyday, which is why they are designed to withstand the pressures of everyday use. To protect it from wearing away, most rings are composed of 14 or 18-karat gold, sterling silver, titanium, or platinum. Gold consisting of the two karats are only 58.3% and 75% pure respectively and are also composed of other alloys such as silver, zinc, palladium, copper, and nickel. These alloys are those that cause allergic reactions to the wearer despite the fact that they make the bands and rings more resistant to corrosion.
Alternative methods have been developed to solve problems with allergic reactions, one of which is producing rings that are hypoallergenic. Platinum wedding rings are known to be the most rare and heaviest of all the precious metals. It is usually 90-95% pure and contains alloys such as copper, palladium, and zinc cobalt. Although it can be scratched over time, it does not tarnish. Platinum wedding ring sets are increasing in number due to the fact that it has become popular in the jewelry scene.
With more and more men developing allergic reactions to nickel and gold, it seems logical for jewelry manufacturers to utilize other alternatives. And with the popularity of platinum as an alternative to gold, buyers will not find it hard to acquire it in the market - there are thousands of platinum wedding ring sets to choose from.
