Cloud Resource management strategies usually aim at achieving high level performance and lower of power consumption. The various strategies for cloud resource management are related to the three cloud delivery models which include Infrastructure as a Service, Software as a Service and Platform as a Service. All of the three vary from one another. But the thing in common in all the three is the bulk fluctuating load faced by the cloud services providers which stands as a for the cloud elasticity.
Policy and mechanism are one of the core elements of Cloud computing. The former refers to the main guiding decisions, whereas the latter means implement of the policies. The principal motive of an admission control policy is to restrict the system from any acceptance of the workload which stands in violation of highlevel policies of the system.
Capacity allocation is another term used in the cloud system. It refers to allocation of the resources for the concerned instances where an instance refers to the activation of a service. Locating resources subject to the constraints concerning multiple global optimization requires the individual to a find a large space when the state in accordance with the rapidly changing individual systems.
Furthermore, the cloud system allows the user to perform energy optimization and load balancing locally. Both of the two are interrelated and affect the cost of the cloud services which are provided by the vendors. But the restrictive admission control policy helps to minimize the cost cloud service. In other words this means reduction in the energy consumption.
In a nutshell, it can be stated that a main aspect of resource management is the QOS or Quality of Service which is also one of the hardest elements of the cloud to address.
