A Closeup Look At Menu Stands

By: Richard Bull

The restaurant business has always been competitive. Even if you find a niche market, it won't be long until success breeds imitation, and you'll be faced with competition from start-ups who've been inspired by your success. Then along came the most recent recession that has only worked to make matters worse because now dining establishments are competing for less money that's out there being spent because fewer people are dining out.
So today's restaurateur simply can't afford to ignore any details when it comes to advertising, and promotion. If it works to drive in customers, no matter how many that may be, it's worth looking into to see if it's cost effective. So as a result owners and managers are taking a second look not just at their menus but also the menu holders as well. New menu holders that do a far better job of showcasing, and you have to keep one thing in mind here. That is that the "best potential customer" out there is the person who has made it to your establishment and is looking at your menu because their only next step after that is entering, and patronizing your business. At the same time though, any restaurant worker can tell you that "menu gazers are a fickle lot" and in many cases it only takes but a matter of some 10 to 15 seconds for them to make their decision. So it's imperative that you make the best of those precious 10 to 15 seconds when you do have their attention.
Now a branded menu case or stand is one option that can give you the added "extra promotional edge" to present you as being established, and reputable. Branding works, and along with branding comes things like logos, and slogans that can also be brought to bear. Or if you're going to have your menu displayed outside of your establishment. Perhaps on a wall along the walkway or in an entrance-way, a larger LED lighted menu case may be "just the ticket". A larger case means that you can showcase more of what you have to offer, and LED lighting means that folks will have no trouble reading what you have in it. You see, you have to keep in mind that even though you may have perfect 20-20 vision, not all your customers will, so you want to make sure that no-one has any trouble seeing and taking in what you have on display.
Then if you haven't yet seen what's available in the way of high-tech menu stands then perhaps it's time you took a look. New state-of-the-art "digital stands" feature up to a 22 inch touch operated screen. A super promotional tool that has the memory capacity to store all the information you need put out there, and even "play video clips" with sound. It's also available with a smaller 10 and screen. Or if you're operating on a tight budget, and thinking more in terms of what you can get with limited funds, there's also a great selection of sturdy, portable, and nicely finished affordable menu stands.
