5 Key Selling Factors For A Landing Page On Your Website

By: IanSpencer

There are certain things that you should be considering when looking into and indeed building your landings pages and we take a look at our 5 key selling factors when it comes to making that perfect landing page for your site.
Strong Headline – Pretty much like a newspaper, you literally have a few seconds or indeed words to really grab the visitor’s attention, so make sure that you have a really strong headline. Give a really strong statement that will encourage the visitor to want to find out more or get across your special offer in the first few lines of your statement, because you don’t have long to convert a potential customer into a lead.
Relevant And Concise Content – You have to remember that this page is not for SEO and is not designed to get your lots of Google brownie points, so you have to forget about lots of words and try and make sure you get your message across using concise information. The less information you have in terms of words the better, because this page is all about grabbing the attention of the visitor and making them hit “buy” or “more information”.
Key Selling Points – You need to get across why the visitor should buy your product or make an enquiry within a few seconds, which is why a bullet list of key selling points can often make a big conversion difference. If you have some text on your page then breaking this up with bullet points in a list format can really make your key points stand out, which means that you should be able to get across why to buy or why to enquire much quicker.
Interactive Selling Tools – Words are not all you have to say, especially when you can imbed a video from YouTube or Vimeo into your website! A short little video that gets across your message in less than a minute could be perfect for a landing page, offering the visitor a quick snapshot of what you have to offer without reading all of the text and content on the page.
Call To Action Points – It is amazing how many people miss out one of the key things on a landing page and that is clear call to actions, things that allow the person to actually make contact with you if they like what they see. Make sure your phone number is easily accessible and that you have a quick contact form to allow the visitor to easily send you their details or buy the product, because the worst thing you can do is make them hunt around after they have decided to go forward with your company.
The important thing to remember with landing pages is that you constantly need to monitor how the landing pages are performing and then tinker with them to make them even better. If you are running an Adwords campaign with your landing pages then you can immediately see how they are performing and then decide what you need to do differently.
Often, smaller changes can make more of an impact than massive changes, so it is vital you keep developing and trying new things to make your landing pages as good as they possibly can be.
