5 Best Tricks Professional Affiliates Recommend

By: Lina Stakauskaite

While starting affiliate marketing business there are a lot of questions to think about. Firstly you need to remeber why you decided to purchase some kind of the products in the recent past. What was it about the ad that drew you to it? Also, think about the times when you decided NOT to make a purchase. What was it about the product that made you decide to turn away from the offer? Was it the product itself? The way it was presented? The fonts and text used? The choice of words the seller was using?

Believe it or not, according to professional affiliates, factors like the fonts, text, words, and overall presentation DO play a huge role in whether or not the product sells.

This is what sets them apart from the not-so-professional affiliates. Here are some of the tricks the professionals recommend to help you increase your sales:

1. Make the best out of your squeeze page.

The squeeze page is where you try to capture your customers' email addresses. On this page, you can offer a freebie of sorts in exchange for visitors' emails. Despite its name, it's best that you DON'T squeeze a lot of information and content onto the page. Professional affiliates believe that the less is better. People don't like filling out a really long form in order to sign up for an offer - especially if they aren't familiar with your company just yet. For the time being, just try to gather their names and email addresses.

Maybe have a list of various topics and ask them to check the ones in which they have an interest. The list shouldn't be too long - four or five topics should be enough.

Lastly, make the "sign up button" interesting. Seriously. If you have a boring "sign up." Or "join." Button, the form won't drawn very much attention. Instead, make the sign up link say something like "Instant Access!" or "Sign up to get your freebie!" will be much more effective.

2. Put most of your focus "above the fold".

"Above the field" refers to the area that takes up the top portion of a browser window. People have short attention spans and don't like having to scroll down unless they have to. This portion of the page should be as enticing as possible. At the same time, it should be short and kept to the point. Professional affiliates are successful because they know how to entice people with the fewest amount of words possible.

3. Put the readers' needs first, and the marketing second.

If people can tell right away that you're just trying to make money, they will be reluctant to buy from you. If they think that you truly understand their needs, they will be more likely to pay money to learn more.

This is where the choice of words we mentioned above comes in to play: let them know that you understand their needs. Give them hope by informing them that help is out there. Let them know that the information they seek is attainable, and THEN introduce your product or services.

This is one of the most important tips that professional affiliates offer.

4. Write as attractively as possible.

Professional affiliates have the best looking layouts on their websites and blogs. Not only are the words they use effective, the way in which the content is arranged is attractive. You don't want to jam a whole lot of information on one single page. Also, create attractive headlines that WILL gain attention. Space everything neatly on the page. Use a decent size font. Also, use the colors wisely. On one hand, you don't want to make the page look boring, but on the other hand, you don't them to be too bright. Use good contrast, such as white and purple or gray and blue.

5. ALWAYS offer your visitors a freebie.

Professionals all agree, that if there is one mistake that will cost you more than anything, it's not offering visitors a freebie. How can you expect them to buy from you if they know absolutely nothing about you or what you're offering? Plus, a freebie is what you should be using to entice them to sign up for your mailing list.

What kind of free offer should you create? It could be anything that your potential customers would find interesting: an ebook, special report, images, diagrams, etc. If a visitor finds the free information interesting, he or she will share it with others. This will increase your sales potential.

As long as you keep these tricks in mind when preparing your sales copy and creating your sales page, you should increase your sales!
