3D Puzzle Can be Fun and Educational

By: Max Luke

Those of us who love to do puzzles never get tired of a new challenge. Is there anything more exciting than cracking open a brand new jigsaw puzzle, preparing for hours of brain-teasing fun? However, if you want a whole new experience that will challenge you in an entirely different way, check out 3D Puzzles.

3D Puzzles take a flat, two-dimensional picture and bring it to life as you build it into an actual structure. These puzzles are not for amateurs! They can contain anywhere from 300-1000+ pieces and force your brain to think in new ways in order to solve them.

Anything that can exist in the world as three dimensional structures can be recreated as a puzzle. Some of the most popular 3D Puzzles are famous buildings from around the world: the Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal, and Big Ben for example. Or you may choose to recreate cars, boats, space shuttles, airplanes or other forms of transportation.

3D Puzzles are a wonderful way to incorporate learning into your family fun time. Pick a puzzle design based on science, geography or classic art and then encourage your kids to read about the puzzle you’re working on and share the facts they learn while you’re working on it together.

3D puzzles cost slightly more than regular 2D puzzles, but that's because they are more labor intensive to design and manufacture. However, you’re more likely to want to keep your 3D puzzles as a display piece in your home. They can be a great addition to your kids’ rooms, or even your office. While you may be able to find a second-hand puzzle that is already opened, be wary of the source. There's no greater disappointment than reaching the end of a project only to find there are pieces missing.

There's no better tool for boosting your brain and learning problem solving than regularly doing puzzles. 3D puzzlesare a fun and exciting way to revive a favorite family activity. Just remember that you want your kids to have fun--so try to choose age appropriate designs and be aware that they may not be suitable for kids under age 8. 3D Puzzles can be found at toy or hobby shops or even on the internet.
