2009 New Orleans Bowl Tickets

The ninth annual New Orleans Bowl will kick off on December 20, 2009, and will pit a team from the Sun Belt Conference against a team from Conference USA. The game is played in the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans and is sponsored by R+L Carriers, and is officially known as the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. The New Orleans Bowl is currently the Sun Belt Conference's only guaranteed bowl bid.
New Orleans is always a good time, and college football in New Orleans is a great time. It's a chance for college football fans to enjoy a party atmosphere as well as taking in a great college football bowl game. Not only is New Orleans a hot spot for tourists, there are events surrounding the game that add to the experience. New Orleans is famous for it's French Quarter and the city's various casinos, museums and of course the city's fabulous restaurants.
There are several events surrounding the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, such as the official luncheon, which last year featured former NFL MVP and current NFL analyst Marshall Faulk. Tickets are available to attend this year's luncheon as well as Fan Fest, Tailgate Party and the Battle of the Bands. There is also a a Spouse\Kids event and a kids concert.
The game kicks off in the Louisiana Superdome, known as the home of the New Orleans Saints of the NFL, and host of several Super Bowls and NCAA Championships. The Superdome is steeped in football history, and it's now one of hte places that all sports fans should see and enjoy. The configuration of the arena for football allows almost 73,000 fans to watch the game on the new artificial grass turf. The dome has been open since 1975, and few arenas can boast the history of this football palace.
The college bowl system is both beloved by some fans and hated by others, being unique in that there is no playoff system for FBS college football teams. While some fans dislike the idea of not having a true college football champion, others love the idea that many teams can end their seasons with a win. Whichever side you might fall on, there's no doubt that a college bowl game is still an amazing event.
